THERAPY SERVICES FOR NURSES, HEALTHCAREWORKERS, AND HICH ACHIEVING WOMEN
Talk alone doesn't shift a pattern you've been running for twenty years.
Below is a short look at each service. Click through to any of them for the full breakdown of who it's for, what it treats, and what sessions actually look like — no guessing what you're paying for.
What We Work On Together
Every modality offered here is chosen because it works — and because it meets you in your body, your story, and your timeline. Below is a look at the four approaches available at Return to Self.
Individual Therapy
One-on-one sessions that create space for you to be seen, heard, and understood — without having to explain yourself twice.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Who it's for: Women who understand their patterns perfectly and still can't change them.
What it helps with: Distressing memories and experiences that got "stuck" instead of processed, driving reactions that feel disproportionate to the moment.
What sessions look like: 50 minutes, using bilateral stimulation while you hold a specific memory or belief in mind — you stay in control the entire time.

Somatic Therapy
Who it's for: Women whose bodies have been sending signals for years that got talked past instead of listened to.
What it helps with: Chronic tension, a nervous system stuck in high alert, and physical symptoms with no clear medical cause.
What sessions look like: Tracking sensation, breath, and posture in real time, with gentle movement or breathwork where useful.

EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy)
Who it's for: Women who always feel like their needs are a burden.
What it helps with: Relationship patterns that make it hard to identify, express, or feel entitled to your own emotional needs.
What sessions look like: In-the-moment emotional processing rather than only discussing events abstractly.

Attachment-Based Therapy
Who it's for: Women for whom closeness has always come with unspoken conditions — perform, produce, don't need anything.
What it helps with: Healing relationship patterns such as difficulty trusting others, discomfort receiving care, and relationships that only feel secure when you're holding them together.
What sessions look like: Direct conversation tracing current relationship patterns back to where they were learned.

IFS (Internal Family Systems)
Who it's for: Women who feel like there's a committee running their life and none of them agree.
What it helps with: Chronic people-pleasing, perfectionism, and the exhausting internal tug-of-war between the part that wants to rest and the part terrified of what happens if you stop.
What sessions look like: Slower, internal, reflective work identifying and speaking with the specific parts driving your patterns.

You Don't Have to Fit a Diagnosis to Belong Here
The people who find their way to this practice are usually carrying things that don't have a clean label. They're not broken — they're exhausted. They've been the responsible one, the strong one, the one everyone leans on. If any of the following resonate, this work was built with you in mind.
Exhaustion that a day off, a vacation, or a full night's sleep doesn't touch
The freeze that happens between someone asking and you answering — when you already know it's a no
Conversations that live rent-free in your head at 2 a.m.
The gap between how you're doing and how you're doing on paper
Guilt that shows up the moment you ask for anything
Not knowing who you are when you're not being useful to someone
Boundaries you set on Monday and have quietly dropped by Thursday
Moral distress, and the calls that stayed with you
Trauma you've been working around instead of through
Resentment you're not comfortable admitting to
Anxiety with nothing obvious attached to it
What It's Like to Work Together
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Here's what you can expect — no surprises, no pressure, just a clear picture of how this works.
Free Consultation
a 15–20 minute call to talk through what's going on and whether this is the right fit, before you commit to anything.
Intake Session
your first full session, where we map out what's actually driving the pattern and which approach fits it.
Your Pace, Always
50 minutes, weekly or biweekly depending on what we're working through, following whatever's live that week rather than a fixed script.
Questions You Might Have
It's normal to have questions before reaching out. Here are the ones that come up most often — answered honestly.
Do you take insurance?
Currently, this practice operates as a private-pay and direct billing. Depending on your insurance benefits.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Sessions are available via secure telehealth, which means you can access care from wherever feels safest — your home, your car during a break, wherever works. No commute required. How long are sessions?
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. EMDR sessions may run longer depending on where we are in processing — we'll talk about that together as it becomes relevant.I've tried therapy before and nothing changed. How do I know which approach is actually right for me?
If you're a nurse, healthcare worker, or a woman who has spent years putting everyone else first and you're starting to feel the cost of that — this was built for you. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to reach out. Feeling tired of carrying it alone is enough.
You don't need to know before you start. The free consult exists specifically to figure that out together, based on what you're bringing in rather than guesswork from a website.
What exactly is EMDR or somatic therapy — do I have to do anything strange?
Nothing strange. EMDR uses guided bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) to help your nervous system process memories that got stuck. Somatic therapy simply means we pay attention to what your body is doing alongside your words — tension, breath, sensation — because the body holds what the mind sometimes can't reach. Both are evidence-based, both are led by you, and neither requires you to relive your worst moments in detail.
Ready to Take the First Step?
You don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out. One conversation is all it takes to see if this feels like the right fit.
